[About the Role]
Join the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of General Counsel as an Executive Assistant. In this impactful role, you will support a dynamic legal team by delivering high-level paralegal and legal secretarial services in a fast-paced, professional office setting. [Responsibilities]
- Format, finalize, and file legal documents, pleadings, and motions with relevant tribunals
- Draft correspondence and legal documents using templates and attorney-provided drafts
- Manage attorney calendars, coordinate hearings, trials, depositions, and arrange necessary facilities
- Prepare subpoenas, discovery requests, and schedule court reporters and obtain transcripts
- Maintain and close attorney case files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Coordinate travel arrangements and handle general secretarial duties
- Serve or arrange service of legal documents as needed
- Provide additional support to office management to ensure seamless operations
[Required Skills and Experience]
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a paralegal or legal secretary in a legal office
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong experience preparing legal documents, subpoenas, pleadings, and discovery requests
- Confident in managing multiple attorney calendars and travel arrangements
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Florida court system
- High school diploma required

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
- Previous experience working with a State of Florida Attorney
- Familiarity with Florida court filing procedures and judicial assistance contacts
