Job Description
To perform complex secretarial, office administration, and public relations assignments; perform related work.
The Administrative Assistant 2 for the Auxiliary Services Department provides comprehensive administrative and programmatic support. This position plays a critical role in supporting students and department operations for multiple units including: Event Services, Student Union, Recreation & Wellness, and provide support to the AVP for Auxiliary Services and Campus Operations. The successful candidate will manage complex administrative tasks related to personnel processes, communications, purchasing, financial processes, and scheduling.
This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative
Operations
- Assist the AVP for Auxiliary Services with preparing reports,
presentations, and department communication.
- Serve as the primary office contact.
- Manage
day-to-day office operations and implement ISU policies and procedures.
Communication
- Handle inquiries (phone, email, in-person) and maintain timely,
professional communication with faculty, students, and external stakeholders.
- Maintain department website and communication materials, ensuring alignment
with university branding standards.
Financial, Contracts & Personnel
- Coordinate purchases, travel arrangements, budget reconciliation, billing,
and hiring documentation. Prepare deposits and financial tracking.
Minimum Qualifications
Good
knowledge of:
-Office support functions
including word processing, filing, composing a variety of business
documents and reception.
-Researching, compiling,
and summarizing data for reports.
Experience:
-Interpreting, applying
and explaining complex information such as regulations, policies or
services.
-Independently solving
problems/performing liaison activities in a work setting.
-Coordinating activities
requiring complex arrangements.
Specialty
Items - Some

-Financial record
keeping.
-Supervisory practices.
Good
knowledge of:
-Legal terminology.
-Investigative
procedures.
Experience:
-Public Relations.
-Using
dictation/transcription equipment & taking minutes.
