Basic Function:
The Marketing Assistant plays a key role in supporting the marketing team through social media management, developing digital content and promotional materials, collaboratively planning and executing events, and handling a broad range of administrative tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to coordinate the development and execution of all promotional events
- Manage the promotional event supply inventory
- Assist in managing all Maryland Science Center social media accounts through content creation, management, and analysis
- Maintain email databases and assist in developing targeted email campaigns
- Help maintain consistent communication across digital channels
- Assist with monthly updates to the Maryland Science Center website
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Adobe Suite (mainly InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier Pro)
- Social Media content management (Meta platforms, TikTok, YouTube)
Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent time management
Ability to:
- Multi-task in a deadline-driven environment
- Work effectively within a team and independently
- Be imaginative in the initiation of new projects and events
- Work evenings and weekend hours for monthly events
Education: BA in Marketing or a related field
