Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Principal at Hopewell Elementary School. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the school office, facilitating communication between staff, students, and parents, and assisting with various administrative tasks. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to fostering a positive school environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Principal, managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating appointments.
- Assist in the preparation of correspondence, reports, and presentations as needed.
- Maintain and organize school records, files, and databases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with school policies.
- Handle incoming communications, including phone calls, emails, and inquiries from parents, students, and staff, providing timely and accurate information.
- Support the Principal in planning and organizing school events, meetings, and activities.
- Assist with student enrollment and registration processes, maintaining accurate student records.
- Coordinate and manage office supplies, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and other administrative personnel to facilitate effective communication and workflow.
- Assist in managing budgets and financial records related to school operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal to support the overall functioning of the school.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in office administration or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in an administrative support role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
- Knowledge of school policies, procedures, and regulations is a plus.
