ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II, Admissions, to serve on the Admissions’ customer service team, providing essential assistance to applicants, prospective students and families over the phone, in person and by email. Serves as an ambassador to the Institute at the new MIT Welcome Center at Kendall Square, and works behind the scenes supporting Admissions’ customer service and administrative needs. Will work closely with colleagues at MIT Open Space Programming in staffing the Welcome Center reception desk, ensuring that the visitor experience at MIT is welcoming, informative, and inspiring; develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of MIT programs, culture, and the admissions application process in order to provide excellent customer service to applicants and families in-person, on the phone, and via email communications; work under the supervision of the assistant director of recruitment and assist the Admissions’ recruitment team with coordinating student tour guides and on-campus events and provide logistical support for off-campus recruitment initiatives; and perform other duties as needed, including general office administration and project support for Admissions’ programs.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: High school diploma or its equivalent; three years of related experience, preferably in customer service; excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills; attention to detail and accuracy; flexibility; and comfort working on multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision; and enjoys working with and can demonstrate good judgment and tact in all dealings with a wide variety of people, primarily prospective applicants and their families.
Must be able to work on-campus in Cambridge, MA.
