Reports to the Director of Transportation.
General Description:
Assists in the effective, efficient, and safe operation of the district transportation team.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Successful experience in office management, facilities management and/or public school transportation preferred.
Proficiency in computer skills and knowledge of applications necessary to access timely and relevant information and be able to disseminate same.
CDL with school bus endorsement desirable or candidate may have the willingness and ability to obtain.
Physical/Other Requirements:
- Able to access all areas of District facilities, including the transportation center, school buses, district vehicles, maintenance and operations, appropriate classroom, and office areas.

Essential Functions and Performance Responsibilities:
- Ability to utilize routing software and other applicable software
- Ability to assist in completing payroll for the department
- Ability to follow proper procedures in emergency situations involving the operation of school vehicles
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of school transportation
- Assist with overall school business, transportation, and operations in accordance with District policies and administrative guidelines, Operating Standards for Ohio Schools, and the provisions of State and Federal law.
- Work in conjunction with Student Services staff to provide appropriate facilities and operational support for students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and/or other District-authorized accommodation plans.
- Requisition and account for all material, supplies, and equipment as needed to carry out program.
- Maintain records as required by law, District policy, and administrative guidelines; maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships and timely communications with students, parents,
- District staff and the community.
- Meet the professional expectations of attendance, suitable attire and decorum, participation in
- Transportation/.District meetings/functions and support of District initiatives.
- Respond to specific requests from the Superintendent/Director of Operations on matters affecting school business, facilities, and operations of the District.

- Serve as a role model for students and staff on how to conduct themselves as citizens and responsible human beings.
- Demonstrate a belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.
- Use technology resources in accordance with District policies and administrative guidelines and the provisions of State and Federal law. Online conduct, including postings to social media, shall be in a manner sensitive to the employee's professional responsibilities.
- Keep up-to-date and knowledgeable of school business, facilities, operations and safety-related matters, and District issues.
- Perform other job functions as assigned.
The employee shall remain free from any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District. In addition, the employee shall be free any substance, prescribed or otherwise, that impairs the employee's work performance or the safety of other while on duty.
Position will run August 1st (or the first Monday in August) until 10 days after the last student day.
