Office Manager
Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, Full-time
Pay Range: $28.50 – $42.73

Job Summary
The office manager is responsible for Interviewing, hiring, and training all new civil process and traffic clerks. Schedule and maintain coverage for all clerical staff. Supervise and assign daily duties to clerical personnel. Generate and maintain reports as needed. Purchase, monitor, and maintain equipment and sufficient supplies for the Civil Process and Courts Division. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Captain or Inspector.
Responsibilities:
Will work with Human Resources to create job announcements, interview candidates, hire new employees, and train them accordingly.
Maintain a schedule to ensure proper coverage and schedule vacation and other off time requests. Complete an Employee Performance Review for each one of the Civil Process Clerks annually.
Assist with customers at the service windows, manage, review, and complete Civil Process data entries. Back-up vacant post and assist staff during peak times. Manage and balance all cash drawers. Verify all credit/debit transactions prior to turnover to fiscal.
Assist the Divisional Commander with ordering supplies, gathering data and briefing any issues within the Unit. Review and fact find customer complaints and inquiries. Ensure proper communication and documentation of all civil process billings and payments.
Create reports and maintain statistics in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office. These reports will be turned in to the Captain. Review and verify contractor (SPS) billing and approve/apply payment for outstanding invoices.
Minimum Requirements:
Current residency within the State of Wisconsin
High School diploma or G.E.D equivalent and some college credits required
At least (3) three years of experience in customer service, staff management, administrative/clerical duties
At least (1) one year of experience in supervising
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Intermediate Accounting skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher
Previous work experience in a law enforcement agency
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional people skills; ability to make sound judgment calls and use of common sense; ability to work under pressure; ability to lift/carry/push/pull 50 lbs.; and ability to supervise approximately 7 or more employees.
