Perform secretarial support necessary to accomplish objectives established by the Building Principal. Adapts to the variety of responsibilities. Presents a positive image in contacts with the parents, community and staff. Properly handle confidential matters relating to students, student records, parents, staff and any other school related issues.

Pay: Non-Exempt According to Clerical Salary Scale

Qualifications:
- High School diploma
- Written substantiation of experience;
- Office skills as required in job
Essential Functions:
- Functional daily attendance
- Perform telephone and personal reception duties for all building staff; route calls and visitors.
- Manage school site registration process; prepare enrollment and transfer forms; assist parents with proper completion of forms; request new student files; orient new families and students to the school.
- Responsible for recording and verifying student late arrivals and early dismissals from school, responsible for recording tardies and absences to class.
- Maintain and record student attendance; record daily calls to parents regarding student absences; compile and generate attendance reports. Maintain enrollment, transfer daily attendance records for students; compile information required for permanent student records. Send for cumulative folders for students entering school system.
- Maintains communication with building administrators regarding students with chronic attendance problems;
- Responds to inquires from a variety of internal and external parties ( e.g. staff, parents, students, public agencies, etc.) for the purpose of providing information, facilitating communication among department and/or providing direction as may be required.
- Monitor students referred for illness, discipline, etc. for the purpose of ensuring their safety and welfare.
- erform health-related duties in the absence of the Health Office staff; administer first aid to students and staff; dispense medication according to prescription instructions; enter necessary information in the medical log; notify parents of ill or injured students; prepare exposure notices and accident reports as needed.
- Operates all standard office equipment;
- Receive and respond to requests for information verbally or in writing. Obtain and provide responses for situations where information is available and established procedures permit dissemination. Analyze unusual situations and refer to the appropriate position for resolution. Often assist in developing these responses. Presentation of a professional image for the authority is important in these relationships.
- Compose school-to-home communications, such as back to school packets, newsletters, fliers and reminders, which may include the scheduling and execution of compiling, typing, editing, paste-up, printing and distribution.
- Perform health-related duties in the absence of the Health Office staff; administer first aid to students and staff; dispense medication according to prescription instructions; enter necessary information in the medical log; notify parents of ill or injured students; prepare exposure notices and accident reports as needed.
