ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE DEAN: COLLEGE OF HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONS
OVERVIEW:
DeSales University, in Center Valley, PA, is a private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts Salesian, Catholic university, under the leadership of the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales. Founded in 1965, the 550-acre suburban campus is located 50 miles north of Philadelphia and about 90 miles southwest of New York City. POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of Administrative Assistant requires attention to detail, effective communication skills, work ethics, confidentiality, and cooperation when supporting the Dean of the College of Healthcare Professions. The administrative assistant handles confidential duties associated with the college budget accounts, students' academic concerns, faculty positions, faculty reports, and Healthcare program course evaluations. This position provides specialized support to the Dean of the College of Healthcare Professions. Responsibilities include performing high-level administrative duties, oversight, and coordination of the Dean's office activities as they relate to the healthcare programs. Such functions include coordinating planning and workflow; follow-up on delegated tasks; keeping projects on schedule, preparing, and keeping track of College and office budgets; calendar management for the Dean and assisting program directors or staff as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
- 2-3 years of related experience in a healthcare higher education environment or healthcare service-based industry
- Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint and Microsoft Teams, and experience with database programs. Willingness to learn other technologies to support academic programs.
- Possess and be able to provide accurate financial and other data accounting.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Occasional attendance at college functions outside of standard work hours
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, balance competing responsibilities, and complete assignments in a timely manner.
