JOB POSITION: HEAD SECRETARY TO THE PRINCIPAL
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Demonstrate competency in office procedures.
2. Ability to operate all office machines including technology.
3. Ability to use different software including Microsoft, Google, Excell, ect. Use of Synergy preferred.
3. Ability to maintain records, files, and other required data.
4. Good communication skills. (Bilingual skill useful).
5. Ability to deal with staff, students, and patrons in a positive manner.
6. Previous secretarial experience.
7. Maturity to handle difficult situations and maintain confidentiality.
SUPERVISOR: Principal
JOB GOAL: To assist and relieve the Principal of clerical impediments so that
he/she may devote maximum attention to delivery of instructional
services to school clients.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors, and administrators.
2. Demonstrate ethical behavior.
3. Engage in self development.
4. Follow district policies and administrative rules and regulations.
5. Maintain behavior appropriate to performing and accomplishing assigned
duties.
6. Know what to do to successfully complete assigned work.
7. Project an over-all concern for personal appearance as it relates to job
performance.
8. Tend to the many needs of the faculty and principal.
9. Maintain the school calendar to include daily activities and plans for the
day.
10. Oversee office workers.
11. Assist in ensuring that all teachers are present or a substitute is on hand.
12. Greet and help parents and visitors.
13. Type any correspondence required by the principal.
14. Keep principal informed on meetings, appointments, etc.
15. Order and issue supplies to teachers.
16. Assist teachers with operational or activity money within budgetary
guidelines.
17. Deposit money for all accounts at the school.
18. Revise teacher handbook annually.
19. Tend to student needs as requested.
20. Maintain student records.
21. Maintain an accurate accounting of attendance.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
21. Assist with ongoing, inter-relationships and communications with other
school offices and the public.
22. Contribute to the welfare and effectiveness of the office by adhering to
high ethical standards of performance and interpersonal relationships.
23. Regular attendance.
24. Other tasks as may be deemed appropriate and necessary by the immediate
supervisor.
