School District #6 is located in the famous Rogue River Valley of Southern Oregon, nestled between the Cascade and Siskiyou Mountain ranges. The area abounds with opportunities - natural, theatrical, musical, educational and athletic. The entire school district is being restructured with an eye toward further improving our already excellent program. POSITION: Program Support Secretary - Part-Time (Special Education - School Psychologist Support)
HOURS: 5.75 hours per day
BUILDING: Special Education Department
CALENDAR: 184 days per year (August - June)
PROGRAM SUPPORT SECRETARY
Purpose: The Program Support Secretary ensures the efficient and organized administration of a District-level program or department by coordinating communication between district and school personnel and performing specialized secretarial and clerical duties.
Reports to: District-level administrator, supervisor, or licensed specialist
Nature of Work: The Program Support Secretary works independently following standardized routines under general supervision. The nature of the work requires knowledge of and adherence to policies, procedures, and regulations. Because the job at times requires coordinating and organizing between school and district-level personnel, the position requires significant communication, organizational and managerial aptitude, as well as a high level of professional decorum.
Supervision Exercised: No direct supervision.
Interface: Primarily interfaces with administrators, licensed and non-licensed school staff. The Incumbent will occasionally interact with students and families.

The Program Support Secretary works primarily indoors in an office environment. The position requires regular work at a computer, as well as the ability to write, hear and speak. The incumbent will also occasionally be required to kneel, bend or crouch. Potential exposures may include blood-borne pathogens and sick or injured students. The position requires some interaction with children from diverse backgrounds, many of whom experiences behavior, academic, or physiological challenges.
