POSITION: An 80% university staff position is available in Music and Theatre Arts beginning in September 2026. The working title for this assignment is Technical Support-Publications and Webmaster with an official title of Administrative Assistant II. This is an expected-to-continue assignment which requires a six-month probationary period. The expected hourly hiring salary will be based on qualifications and experience.

DUTIES: This is a technical position responsible for the preparation of professional-quality copy, both print and digital, for all department-sponsored concert, recital, and special events programs and other department publications, including public posters, area mailers, the student handbook, conference materials, recruitment brochures, and other promotional materials. This position is also required to create digital materials for web and building screen displays and make regular updates to the department’s social media pages. The department sponsors more than 250 events annually. The position functions as webmaster for the department’s extensive website which includes information about department admission procedures and policies, faculty biographies, curriculum requirements, event calendars, ensemble and program information, audio files, and photography. This position also processes hiring student workers (40-45) for the department and provides oversight to the student workers who are part of Stage Crew (10-12). The position reports to the department chair and receives minimal supervision.
The Department of Music and Theatre Arts has more than 400 majors, minors, and certificate students. This position requires extensive knowledge of the department, its academic programs, and public programming. Independent action and decision-making and excellent people and organizational skills are essential qualities for the position. The position requires expertise in many computer applications, including the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) at an advanced level for graphic design, MS Office, Dreamweaver and Web maintenance software (Drupal).
