Performs varied clerical and secretarial duties requiring a basic knowledge of office routine and an understanding of the organization, programs, and procedures related to the work of the office. Maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day activities of the students, staff and administrative staff. Works fairly independently, receiving minimum supervision and guidance.
1. Assist in the operation of administrative and student offices in support of school and staff, ensuring a positive, professional image. This includes greeting students, staff, visitors and callers, handling their inquiries, and directing them to the appropriate persons according to their needs.
2. Maintain and administer student attendance records and programs, ensuring accuracy for school, district and state reports.
3. Communicate with District staff and families as necessary regarding student attendance, including coaches.
4. Maintain student records and cumulative files for incoming, current and transfer students. This may include demographic information, grades, assessment results, immunization records, student learning plans, IEPS, files, and vision and hearing.
5.Train students, staff and volunteers in office/site processes and etiquette; assist with evaluating student performance for grading.
6. Assist with minor medical injuries, illnesses and may administer medication for students.
7. Other related duties as assigned
1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional secretarial courses preferred.
2. Minimum two years of recent secretarial or clerical work experience required, with School District experience preferred.
3. Ability to accurately type 40 words per minute.
