Reports to: Assistant Superintendent and Director of Non-Certified Staff
Niles Community Schools is looking for a dynamic Personnel & Curriculum Instructional Assistant. Highly effective communication skills and professionalism are required for daily interaction with a diverse workforce, student population, building administration, and community.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Administrative Assistant
- Successful school experience
Performance Responsibilities:
- Schedule interviews and conduct tests when appropriate
- Assist with employee email account set-up, maintain acceptable use policy, and assign accounts and key card access
- Create new hire, resignation, and retirement letters and prepare certified mail
- Run background checks via Michigan State Police ICHAT system and Indiana Court System
- Set up and monitor SafeSchools safety training modules
- Perform recordkeeping tasks associated with personnel and curriculum funds
- Provide employment verifications for present and former employees
- Create and maintain staff IDs for all Niles employees
- Execute clerical tasks for supervisors
- Maintain and distribute Curriculum inventory
- Manage service awards during School Family Week
- Maintain and update district website and social media pages
- Manage and assist with Kinder registration, including the use of the Student Information System
- Manage employee contracts through Records
- Maintain and update several employee Google spreadsheets
- Coordinate the scheduling of professional development
- Manage SCHECH professional development documentation for certified staff
- Handle conference registrations, as well as travel and lodging accommodations for staff
- Monitor and distribute incoming calls, faxes, mail, and email
- Operate standard office equipment
- Order and maintain supplies for the Curriculum and Personnel departments
- Monitor and electronically file evaluations
- Maintain employee physical and electronic files
- Monitor and maintain safety and security access for doors
- Assist with daily management and operations of curriculum/personell office, including screening visitors, phone calls, and mail
- Operate standard office equipment
- Order and maintain supplies for curriculum and Personnel departments
- Maintain multiple calendars
- Purge files as needed
- Assist Human Resources in onboarding process
- Other duties as directed by Assistant Superintendent, Director of Personnel and/or Superintendent of Schools.
