The Administrative Assistant provides front-line reception and general administrative support at the Goodwill Community Center. This role is the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and stakeholders, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. In addition to receptionist duties, the Administrative Assistant supports various clerical and administrative functions and may be assigned special projects or tasks as needed.
Role and Responsibilities
- Greet and direct visitors, guests, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Assist students, staff, and visitors by providing information or referrals related to job placement, workforce
- development, or continuing education opportunities, in alignment with Goodwill’s mission.
- Answer and route incoming phone calls, emails, and general inquiries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and lobby area.
- Assist with scheduling, room reservations, and event coordination.
- Prepare, print, and organize materials for meetings and visitors.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and package distribution.
- Maintain office supplies and monitor inventory for reordering.
- Support data entry, filing, and records maintenance.
- Assist with scheduling or logistics for campus tours or events as needed.
- Ability to cross-train and collaborate effectively with the Excel Administrative Assistant to provide
- coverage and continuity of service
- Provide support to the Executive Operations Manager and Executive Assistant to the C-Suite with
- administrative tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall office efficiency.
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented relationship with management and peers; encourage interactions
- between all departments.
Supervisory Responsibility

Required Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative support or customer service roles.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Demonstrated ability to de-escalate tense or emotionally charged interactions with professionalism and
- empathy.
- Creative and flexible problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt under pressure and meet tight
deadlines.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
- The ability to cope with and tolerate moderate levels of stress is also a necessity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
