The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking an Attendance Office Secretary at The Dome for the 2026-2027 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. As an Attendance Office Secretary you are required to:
- Graduation from high school.
- College level course work in business, word processing, and office procedures preferred.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Successful experience with office management in related area preferred
As an Attendance Office Secretary you will:
- Assists with preparation, recording and filing of district student records (e.g., registration, withdrawl, EMIS, transfers, charter schools, open enrollment etc.)
- Assists with office communications )e.g., prepares and distributes memo, letters, notices, forms, directories, facts reports, etc.)
- Maintains office equipment and assists staff members with operation of same, calls service representatives when necessary
- Maintains and updates office files
- Registers and inform families of custody law and residency issues
- Deomonstrates regular and predictable attendance
- Assists department staff with any clerical duties as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Ability to describe problems and work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as needed for position.
- Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the Internet, Outlook, electronic mail).
- Ability to problem solve job-related issues.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
- Ability to process paperwork accurately according to standardized procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of office management procedures.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations, District policies and procedures, principles, guidelines, and best practices related to department (e.g., Pupil Services, Human Resources, Facilities and Business).
What We Offer:
As a contracted employee, this position works 8 hours per day, 260 days per year.
Monday - Friday hours as assigned
Starting salary is $21.03 per hour
