Cedarville University invites applicants for the position of Front Desk Administrative Assistant. This is a part-time, non-exempt, on-site staff position in the Student Development Department within the Student Life and Christian Ministries Division. This position reports to the AVP of Student Development and Dean of Students and works 1,020 annual hours. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for 17 weeks each semester.
The Front Desk Administrative Assistant provides support to the Residence Life office. Primary responsibilities include answering the main phone line for the Residence Life office, assisting students and visitors, responding to voicemail messages and department emails, approving chapel excuse requests, helping prepare for and facilitate Residence Life events, and assisting the Deans and Housing Coordinator with various administrative tasks.
Essential Functions of the Position
Help students and guests who come to the office and answer the Residence Life main phone line.
Manage the Chapel Attendance system, Stuserve account, and chapel courtesy email accounts.
Answer the main phone line for the Residence Life office.
Respond to voicemails and emails or forward them to the appropriate Dean or Housing Coordinator.
Import chapel attendance into the system each day.
Facilitate Square account transactions for RD dorm merchandise purposes.
Approve special arrangement chapel requests.
Assist with filing and organizational needs within the office.
Communicate with other offices on campus when necessary.
Clean and vacuum the office when necessary.
Help prepare for and facilitate Residence Life events.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Must provide a positive example of a mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Must be passionate about working with university students.
Strong organizational skills preferred.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must have good computer skills.
Required Mental/Physical Abilities
Must be able to hear and speak clearly.
Must exhibit good listening and verbal communication skills.
