Description
Hennepin County is seeking an Executive Assistant II to provide specialized administrative support to the Assistant County Administrator of the Health line of business ensuring smooth daily operations and coordination across a wide range of executive-level activities. This role requires independent judgement, confidentiality, and strong organization skills.
Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both at the Hennepin County Government Center building in downtown Minneapolis at 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487, and remote as job duties require. Work hours will typically be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On-site expectations will be at least 2 days a week or more if needed. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

In this position, you will:
- Schedule appointments, arrange meetings and conferences, coordinate public or community relations activities and events, coordinate travel arrangements, and maintain calendars on behalf of the Assistant County Administrator.
- Attend meetings and take notes.
- Lead or facilitate committees and projects with authority to act on the executive's behalf.
- Compose correspondence and reports on behalf of the executive.
- Oversee preparation of Board Action Requests, personal service agreements, contracts, budget materials, reports, and recommendations.
- Manage special projects as requested by the executive.
Need to have:- One of the following:
- Eight years or more of general administrative work experience.
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or other field appropriate to the position and four years or more of general administrative work experience.

- Experience:
- Scheduling appointments, arranging meetings and conferences, coordinating public or community relations activities and events, coordinating travel arrangements, and maintaining calendars.
- Leading or facilitating committees and projects.
- Composing correspondence and reports.
- Ability to:
- Handle multiple issues, concerns or problems simultaneously and effectively.
- Navigate various professional dynamics while maintaining high levels of tact, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the organization.
- Contribute to advancing the county's disparity elimination goals through high-quality administrative leadership.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing including but not limited to upper-level management.
- Work independently and identify work needs; demonstrate the ability to work within a team atmosphere.
