About Diabetes & Glandular Disease Clinic
DGD offers the best in treatment for hormonal and metabolic disorders such as type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, lipid disorders (high cholesterol), pituitary and adrenal gland disease, menstrual disorders and hirsutism (excessive facial hair on women). All of our physicians are board-certified in Endocrinology and Metabolism, a sub-specialty of Internal Medicine. The clinic was founded in July of 1979 with a vision, plan and purpose to break though barriers within the healthcare industry. Then in June of 1983, nearly four years later, the clinic was instrumental in establishing the Diabetes Centers of Excellence at what is now Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital. Under our physicians’ guidance and direction, the Centers of Excellence received recognition from the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and was the only in-patient facility so recognized in South Texas. We continue to strive for innovative treatments while serving our communities with excellence in patient care in all departments within our clinic and will continue to carry out this legacy in the years to come.
