Education:
Associate degree in business or related field.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
Related experience in excess of the minimum requirement may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the education requirement.
Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible executive administrative, operational, or management support experience supporting executive leadership.
Work requires extensive interaction with executive leadership, elected officials, department directors, employees, and external stakeholders.
Position requires diplomacy, discretion, professionalism, persuasion, and the ability to manage sensitive situations and competing priorities.
Work is performed with substantial independence and requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment regarding matters of significance.
Employee is expected to determine appropriate methods, priorities, and responses within established organizational objectives and policies.
Advanced administrative, organizational, financial, communication, and office technology skills are required.
Experience assisting with budget development, monitoring, financial analysis, reconciliation, and expenditure tracking for executive operations and departmental activities.
Preferred / Desirable Qualification(s):
Experience in a municipal or government setting.

The City of Peoria is seeking a Senior Executive Assistant to perform highly responsible, complex, and confidential executive-level administrative and operational support duties for the City Manager’s Office and Deputy City Manager’s Office. This position exercises independent judgment and discretion on significant administrative matters, manages sensitive communications and information, coordinates executive operations, and provides strategic administrative support related to departmental and organizational priorities. This includes, but is not limited to:
Providing advanced executive-level administrative support to the City Manager and Deputy City Managers.
Managing schedules, coordinating meetings, prioritizing requests, and preparing correspondence.
Handling sensitive and confidential matters requiring discretion and independent judgment.
Maintaining confidential records, files, reports, legal documents, personnel information, and executive communications.
Coordinating executive operations and administrative activities with executive leadership, elected officials, department directors, employees, community stakeholders, and external agencies.
Researching, analyzing, compiling, and preparing reports, presentations, agenda materials, briefing documents, and recommendations.
Coordinating and supporting budgetary, procurement, payroll, human resources, financial tracking, and reconciliation activities.
Assisting in the development, implementation, interpretation, and improvement of administrative procedures, operational practices, and organizational processes.
Managing and coordinating special projects, strategic initiatives, meetings, presentations, travel arrangements, and organizational events.
Performing related duties as assigned.

Possess strong executive-level administrative, organizational, and communication skills.
