School Receptionist/Secretary, BCHS

Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. Passing Score on the Ky. Paraprofessional Test, an Associate's Degree or 60 hours of College Credit
3. Clerical Skills.
4. Such additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Reports: Principal

Job Duties/  Responsibilities:

1.  Answers and directs telephone calls to appropriate person or department.
2. Routes incoming calls to appropriate person or department.
3. Takes messages if person being called is not available.
4. Maintains a calendar of events taking place at the school and relays this information to callers and/or stakeholders.
5. Acts as a positive public relations agent for the school and the school system.
6. Performs such other task and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Principal
7. Run daily attendance lists.
8. Calls homes to check on students that are absent.
9. Monthly state reports-PA-2’s and 3’s and principals reports.
10. Administer re-admittance slips to students.
11. Run 8-day letters to be sent home on a weekly basis.
12. Insert all student and guardian information into STI and make any changes that occur throughout the year.
13. Responsible for STI-end of year rollover.
14. Attend required STI trainings and meetings.
15. Make any necessary attendance referrals to DPP.
16. Insert teacher attendance when there is a substitute.
17. Find and locate students that can’t be accounted for.
18. Assist with yearly no-show list of students that have not enrolled in our school system (locate students to see what school they are attending.)
19. Cover office for other clerical personnel during lunch break or when needed.
20. Announcements over PA system.
21. Other duties as deemed by supervisor or Superintendent

Terms of Service: Classified salary schedule set by Bath     

County Board of Education.

190 days, 7.5 hours per day

Evaluations: Performance of this job will be evaluated in

accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
