POSITION SPECIFICS
Join the College of the Liberal Arts as an Administrative Assistant within the School of Labor and Employment Relations and the Department of Anthropology. This role is great for individuals looking for variety in their next career move.
The Administrative Assistant will collaborate with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and external partners to support communications, coordinate events, manage facilities processes, and deliver essential administrative services.
Serve as the primary point of contact for in-person, email, and telephone inquiries; provide information or direct to appropriate resources
Manage and update departmental websites in collaboration with IT; maintain social media accounts and digital communication boards
Create and coordinate marketing and promotional materials, including Canva designs and print service requests
Maintain directories, databases (using Microsoft Excel), and bulletin boards to ensure accurate and current information
Oversee Alumni Relations initiatives, serving as the primary liaison to the Alumni Board
Coordinate alumni events, including the annual Human Resources Case Competition, and lead development of the annual report
Provide faculty support by collecting course syllabi, coordinating regalia orders, and managing textbook adoptions
Administer facility operations, including building access (C-Cure) and submitting facilities work orders using Penn State’s LionSpaceFIS
Manage room reservations as the primary contact for conference rooms and 25Live event bookings
Maintain room calendars and coordinate Zoom logistics as needed
Oversee office supply and equipment management, including inventory tracking, ordering, and maintenance
Coordinate daily mail operations, including incoming/outgoing distribution and FedEx shipments and reconciliation
Provide backup administrative and event support across the department as needed
Ability to stay organized with a high attention to detail and accuracy while multi-tasking
Proven record of reliable, timely task completion
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal skills; inclusive and respectful when working with others
Driven to provide excellent customer service
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

This is not a fully remote position. In accordance with College guidelines, this position requires a minimum of three days per week of on-site work at the designated work location.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $38,300.00 - $55,500.00.
