Akerman is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to multiple attorneys in the Trademark Practice Group of the firm’s New York office. The successful candidate must be highly motivated with no less than five years of experience, preferred in a law firm environment. This role is critical to the efficient management of trademark matters and client communications, supporting attorneys and paralegals with administrative coordination, billing support, matter intake, renewals, and document management throughout the trademark lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of trademark prosecution processes and terminology
- Working knowledge of the USPTO Trademark Center, TEAS and related forms
- Working knowledge of the TTAB courts and their electronic case access and filing systems
- Familiarity with intellectual property litigation processes
- Experience with document management and billing systems (e.g., iManage, Intapp, or similar applications)
Skills and Competencies:
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- High level of proficiency with billing systems and procedures
- Ability to communicate with clients, attorneys and co-workers effectively and efficiently
- Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and, having strong organizational and time management skills
- Works well independently; reliable and dependable team player and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with trademark docketing systems
- Experience opening new matters and prepare, complete, and process matter intake forms
- Experience drafting and prepare engagement letters for attorney and client execution
- Reviewing and processing invoices, ensuring accuracy to help facilitate timely collection
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines
- Good team player who is willing to roll up sleeves and make contribution to larger team
- Enthusiasm for learning and taking on new responsibilities
- Other job duties include heavy file maintenance and other various duties as assigned

Salary range: $75,000 – $105,000 (Actual salary is based on experience and job qualifications.)
