Purpose of Position
The Administrative Assistant provides technical and operational support for the Forestry and Parks Department. The position assists with customer service, financial processes, recordkeeping, recreation and forestry program support, and day-to-day office operations to ensure accurate administration of departmental functions and exceptional service to the public.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are primarily performed, and which are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.
• Professionally represent the department and provide customer service by assisting the public with creating online reservation profiles; making reservations for pavilions, campsites, and other department facilities; and obtaining permits and departmental documents.
• Provide recreation support by disbursing and receipting department master keys and assisting in maintaining and updating resource materials for parks, campgrounds, the Fairgrounds, and Bruce Mound Winter Sports Area.
• Log timber sale scale slips into the TimberBase database and support forestry operations through accurate data entry and documentation.
• Assist with office financial management including employee timesheet and equipment usage entry, accounts payable voucher processing, accounts receivable invoice entry, and revenue receipt data entry into the County’s financial/payroll system.
• Perform self-registration receipt processing for packets turned into the Business Office and accurately record related revenue.
• Schedule and book all events occurring at the Clark County Fairgrounds and serve as a primary point of contact for facility users.
• Receipt and distribute incoming mail or deliveries and process outgoing mail in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Log, file, and maintain various department documents and records to ensure accuracy, organization, and compliance with internal retention practices.
• Serve as a backup to the Financial/Office Manager for daily operations and support other departmental staff with prioritized office tasks or special projects as needed.
• Follow and adhere to the policies, procedures, and work rules of Clark County and the Forestry and Parks Department.
• Schedule and book all events for the Clark County Forestry and Parks Department and serve as primary contact for facility users.
Minimum Qualifications
• Associates degree in an office or administrative professional program, or related field.
• Two years’ experience working in a professional office environment providing customer service.

Prior to hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
