PRIMARY PURPOSE:
- To provide clerical assistance to the Personnel Department by managing the daily inquiries regarding personnel related matters, greeting visitors, applicants, teachers, and principals and serve as a positive public relations advocate for the school district.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Greet and assist visitors, applicants, teachers, and principals.
- Manage incoming and outgoing telephone calls related to employment opportunities, current job openings, interviews, job verification, and other personnel related matters.
- Verify employment both past and present
- Schedule appointments for interviews and/or substitute orientations.
- Refer inquiries from bill collectors, personal friends, etc. of employees to appropriate school via email.
- Assist in sign-ups for new hiring of professional/paraprofessional as needed.
- Mail applications as requested for teachers and paraprofessionals.
- Initiate a new file for applicants and process forms for references.
- Process and record references on databases as they are returned.
- Maintain updated applicant list.
- Process audit letters if items are missing from teachers files.
- Coordinate and process employee leave requests as needed.
- Notify schools if a doctor's release is needed for an employee to return to work and forward to payroll.
- Assist personnel administrators in attaining verification of teacher certificates.
- Run calendar for department and pull necessary files for all appointments.
- Maintain, verify paperwork required for employment, and publish list to schools for substitute teachers, secretaries, and teacher aides.
- Keep confidential matter, confidential.
- Open and distribute mail as needed.
- Assume responsibility to assure all information is received and added to all new teachers files.
- Write requisition purchase orders for certificates to Texas Education Agency, travel, job fairs, reimbursements, and promotion items.
- Process name and address changes, post service records, and assist teachers with requested information from personnel files.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
