The Law Office Coordinator plays a critical role in the efficient and effective delivery of legal assistance. The primary functions are as an office manager and a legal secretary. In support of the legal delivery staff, Law Office Coordinator handles client letters, case file management, and provides back-up assistance to front desk staff, when needed. Law Office Coordinator office manager duties include preparing weekly applications for review by attorney staff, ensuring timely mail communications, ordering needed supplies, making travel arrangements for staff, maintaining a safe and effective work environment, and coordinating front desk and phone coverage.
Applicants should be organized and skilled at prioritizing tasks. Individual must be flexible to adjust priorities to recognize and address legal emergencies, as they arise. Ideal candidates will enjoy a variety of tasks through a work day and have well developed problem-solving skills. Applicants should be a good typists, with excellent grammatical skills and experienced with office technology such as printing, scanning, and faxing. Candidate should also have excellent interpersonal skills and experience with direct client interactions. Minimum Qualifications for Law Office Coordinator position is a high school diploma or equivalent and three years of administrative or clerical work with one year having been in a legal secretary role. Additional education of paralegal studies or legal studies concentration can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of experience.
