The Braintree Public School District is looking for an Administrative Assistant at the Hollis Elementary School to start August 17, 2026 (with the possibility of 5-10 days paid training in mid-late June).
This position is School Year + 4 Weeks, with daily hours of 8:00 - 3:30.
Job Responsibilities:
- Receptionist; greeting all visitors/parents, and assisting and aiding faculty.
- Types all correspondence, memos, letters, and reports requested by the Principal.
- Receives all telephone calls pertaining to Principal, faculty and students and addresses those that are appropriate.
- Responsible for all office student records, keeping them updated, including transfers, new students, and withdrawals..
- Uses Aspen Student Information Management System to accurately track and maintain student contact information, discipline, attendance and academic records.
- Distributes all internal and external mail received in the office .
- Maintains student files related to attendance, academics, and discipline information.
- Prepares the daily telephone list of attendance calls and tardies/dismissals and updates on data processing.
- Assists with morning coverage for teachers who are absent, making certain that if a teacher is absent, the substitute teacher is given a folder with plans, teacher schedule, and all pertinent information.
- Maintains a supply of forms used by teachers.
- Manages school supplies for teachers, support staff and students through monitory levels and ordering supplies as needed.
- Monitors student attendance through daily reports and collaborates with the nurse regarding tardiness, absences, excused absences, and medical conditions.
- Monitors, communicates and directs dismissal of students to after school activities and programs.
- Performs other related administrative assistant duties as assigned by the Principal.
- Answer correspondences and questions from parents, teachers and other administrators. Route messages to correct contact person.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Proficiency in typing and the ability to use current technology (MS Office and Google Office products)
- Working knowledge of basic office procedures and operation of common office equipment and machines.
- Ability to meet frequent deadlines promptly and smoothly.
- Ability to work harmoniously with faculty, staff, parents and students in a fast-paced setting.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Committee may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Willingness to train on district software systems, including Aspen, Munis, AESOP/Frontline, Parent Square, etc.
Evaluation:
- Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the School Commitee's policy on evaluations in the existing contract.
