The Cape Girardeau, Missouri branch of Leggett & Platt is hiring for a full-time administrative assistant. The main responsibilities include weekly payroll, billing, data entry and customer service. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter weekly payroll data
  • Manage multiple spreadsheets in a timely manner
  • Retrieving, submitting, and keeping records of AP invoices
  • Preparing billing and logistical documents for shipments
  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and other correspondence in a professional manner
  • Greet visitors and assist with inquiries
  • Maintain and organize electronic and physical filing systems
  • Assist with data entry, recordkeeping, and basic reporting
  • Handle confidential information with discretion
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with Excel spreadsheets using various formulas and functions
  • Familiarity with a manufacturing setting a plus
  • Basic knowledge of accounts payable and payroll processes
  • Customer service mindset

Work Environment

  • Office-based position
  • Full-time hours 7:30am-4:00pm M-F
