The Part-Time Preschool Secretary is a key member of our Jewish community school, serving as the first point of contact for families, staff, and visitors. This role supports the daily administrative operations of the preschool while fostering a warm, welcoming environment that reflects the values and traditions of our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist parents, staff and in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and general inquiries
- Manage daily sign-in/sign-out procedures in accordance with safety and security protocols
- Prepare and distribute school communications (newsletters, reminders, holiday notices, etc.)
- Assist with coordination of school events, including Jewish holidays and community programs
- Maintain office supplies and support classroom material needs
- Provide administrative support to the Preschool Director and teaching staff
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
- Previous administrative or office experience, preferably in a school or childcare setting
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Friendly, patient, and professional demeanor; comfort working in a Jewish community environment
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children in a school, daycare, or camp setting preferred.
- Warm, patient, and collaborative disposition.
- Ability to follow directions, take initiative, and support classroom management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma required; coursework or credentials in early childhood education a plus.
