Under the direction and guidance of the Chairman and the Senior Adm. Asst./Residency Coordinator of the Department of Medicine will be responsible for the development and implementation of all office and clerical activities.
- Ability to effectively assist Chairman and Residency Coordinator with all daily departmental activities.
- Ability to prioritize projects and handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must possess good computer knowledge.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Assists in managing the daily activities of the department under the directions of the Chairman and the Residency Coordinator.
- Type all office correspondence.
- Expedite all reimbursements via payroll/purchase requisitions while keeping track and following up on status and discrepancies.
- Process high volume of employment verifications.
- Schedule and maintain calendar for Chairman meetings and patients' appointments.
- Maintain and organize all departmental files.
- Download applications via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and assist in the coordination of resident interviews, orientation and credentialing process.
- Distribute, sort and redirect all departmental mail on a daily basis.
- Maintain inventory of all office supplies and handle office equipment repairs.
- Handle confidential information appropriately and exercise care in safeguarding proprietary information.
- Performs all other duties as required.
