Administrative Assistant Occ Med

Summary: The Occupational Medicine Administrative Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Occupational Medicine program, helping ensure efficient, accurate, and timely service for employer clients and their employees. This position serves as a key point of contact between employer partners, patients, clinical teams, and internal departments and assists with coordinating occupational health services such as pre-employment screenings, drug and alcohol testing, physical examinations, work-related injury services, and other employer-requested services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Field Telephone Calls for the Department and Accurately Route Calls to Responsible Parties
- Provide Medical Records When Appropriately Requested
- Maintain Accurate List of Current Clients
- Update Authorization Forms When Necessary
- Coordinate with Center Managers for Incoming Patients to Ensure Continuity of Care
- Schedule Fire Fighters and Other Appointment-Based Patients
- Other Department Duties and Responsibilities as Required or Requested by VP of Occupational Medicine for Operational Efficiency
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree- High School or Equivalent
- Certification– No Requirement
- Years of experience – Preferably at least 1 year of medical office management
- System(s) knowledge – Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
- Skills: Knowledge of EMR. Knowledge of Medical Billing Helpful. Knowledge of Medical Documentation Helpful.
