Administrative Assistant-Building Level
Front office Administrative Assistant for SOWIC Learning Center located at 1205 N. Larkin Avenue in Joliet. The regular school year consists of 195 days. *Additionally, this position includes a stipend for 95 hours of Extended School Year office administrative assistant work that runs from June through early July.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma; Possess typing skills of 60 WPM; Computer literate � working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database software;
• Minimum two years of experience in a typical office setting;
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the SOWIC Governing Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Essential Duties and Performance Responsibilities
• Assist in smooth operation of school front office during the regular school year and extended school year.
• Answer phones; respond to routine questions, schedule appointments.
• Maintain student attendance data for Cooperative Programs and Extended School Year.
• Perform the usual office routines; and assist Program Administrator/ Executive Director/Assistant Director with any and all unexpected projects that arise.
• Maintain general office files and student files.
• Coordinate lunch agreement with Cooperative and applicable member districts and summarize data to submit to Executive Director for approval.
• Send staffing notifications to parents in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Coordinate and submit purchase orders for required central office supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Interest in the well-being of all students. Previous work or volunteer experience with children is preferred.
• Advanced office skills including use of a PC computer, knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and routing and planning software.

Starting Salary - $19.00 / hour
