Position Subject to Availability of Budgeted Funds
The role of the Administrative Assistant is to perform a variety of general and specialized secretarial and clerical work in support of campus faculty and staff in addition to serving as the lead support to the Campus Dean; and to provide general information and assistance to the public regarding college policies and procedures.
The Administrative Assistant receives supervision from the Campus Dean.
Examples of Duties
- Perform a variety of administrative duties for the Dean.
- Coordinate all facility requests for use of the buildings.
- Maintain classroom schedules.
- Prepare instructional related materials such as contracts, purchase orders, syllabi, brochures, etc.
- Maintain files related to curriculum instruction.
- Compile, prepare, distribute, collect and verify curriculum reports and attendance sheets.
- Assist with the proctoring of tests for online courses.
- Assist with duties in Administrative Services (serve as back up cashier) when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with prior administrative assistant/information systems/cashier experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Microsoft Word, spreadsheets in Excel and presentation PowerPoint software.
Skills: - Proficient in advanced word processing techniques.
- Possess interpersonal skills necessary to interact with faculty, students, and the general public
Ability to: - Prioritize work.
- Be willing to adjust work hours during the College's peak periods (i.e., registration).
