These days you can pick up more than a high school diploma at Arkansas Tech University.Arkansas Tech was originally founded in 1909 as the Second District Agricultural School, which offered classes that led to a high school degree. These days, the state-supported institution of higher education offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in a variety of disciplines to more than 8,800 students. Based in Russellville, Arkansas, the school employs more than 400 faculty members and also operates a small satellite campus in the town of Ozark. The school's purpose and name were changed in 1925 when it became Arkansas Polytechnic College; it was renamed Arkansas Tech University in 1976.
