Hawai`i State Judiciary

The State of Hawaii Department of Transportation (Hawaii DOT) makes sure the state's consumers get their consumables. Hawaii imports some 80% of what it utilizes. About 99% of this enters The 50th State through the commercial harbor system; a system that's planned, constructed, operated, and maintained by the Hawaii DOT. In addition to the state's 10 harbors, the agency operates a Highways Division, which manages about 2,400 lane miles of highway on six islands, and an Airports Division, responsible for 15 airports, serving commercial airlines and general aviation flights and handling more than 30 million passengers annually. The Hawaii DOT generates its own monies through independent special funds.
