Glendale Community College

Glendale Community College (GCC) offers post-high school education to some 25,000 Southern Californians. Located in the San Rafael Mountains north of Los Angeles, GCC offers college-credit courses to day and evening students, in addition to an adult education program, specialized job training programs, and contract instruction administered by the Professional Development Center, which provides businesses with customized training. GCC was founded as Glendale Junior College in 1927. For four years following the great earthquake of 1933, GCC held classes in large tents and was consequently known as "Tent City."
